We believe privacy is a right, not a favour. That's why MacDisplay was designed from the start to collect the bare minimum of data. This page summarises in simple terms how it works. For full details, refer to our Privacy Policy.

01 What we do NOT collect

During normal use of the MacDisplay application:

  • we don't record what you display on your screens;
  • we don't collect usage data, analytics or telemetry about how you use the app;
  • we don't know when, where or how you use the app;
  • we have no access to your files, your applications or your documents;
  • we don't share data with third parties for advertising or profiling purposes.

On the website we don't use tracking or profiling cookies; any traffic-analysis tools are configured so as not to collect identifying personal data (for example through aggregated statistics).

The app operates exclusively on your local network: your screen signal travels only through the cable or the Wi-Fi of your home or office, without passing through external servers, the cloud or any internet service we own.

02 What we collect (and why)

When you buy the licence, we receive your email address and the details needed to issue the invoice (such as your name and billing address). We use the email address exclusively to:

  • send you the licence key after purchase;
  • provide you with technical support, if you ask;
  • tell you about any critical or important app updates (for example security or compatibility updates).

We don't use your email address to send newsletters or promotional communications, unless you explicitly request it or give us a separate, specific consent.

03 Who handles payments

From MacDisplay 2.0, we are the seller, Ri.dea SRL: we issue the invoice and handle VAT and any refunds. The payment itself is processed securely by Stripe, acting only as a technical processor: your card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure form and are not stored by us.

Besides Stripe, we rely on a few technical providers, each for a specific function:

  • Keygen (USA) — manages licences and the 3-Mac-per-licence limit: it processes the licence key, a hardware fingerprint of the Mac (an irreversible hash), the Mac's name and your email;
  • Resend (USA) — sends the email with your licence key.

They all process data only on our behalf and for the purposes above.

04 Your rights

At any time you can:

  • ask us to delete your email address from our systems, within the limits allowed by legal obligations, by writing to support@macdisplay.it;
  • write to us at support@macdisplay.it to obtain copies of invoices or update your billing details;
  • request a refund within 30 days of purchase, as set out in our Refund Policy.

For a detailed description of your data protection rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection), see our Privacy Policy.

05 Questions?

If you have doubts or questions about how we handle your data, write to us at support@macdisplay.it. We'll do our best to answer you clearly and fully as soon as possible.
